What to focus on cleaning in your new home?

Cleaning your new home, is, in some ways, much easier than cleaning your old home, but that doesn’t mean that this job shouldn’t be underestimated.  The amount of cleaning that you will need to do, will really depend on the previous owners or tenants, even empty rooms will need a bit of a spruce.

There are some key jobs that you need to get done before you move in. These include:

  • Giving each room a good clean
  • Cleaning appliances both inside and out
  • Emptying any garbage

You will also need to think about getting your carpet cleaned too, however, this should be the last task that you do, and should be finished off with plenty of time for you to move in.

What to focus on cleaning in the old house?

When you are moving out of your home, it is expected that you give it a good clean, ready for the next people to move in. There are some tasks that you really need to focus on. The best thing to do is to make sure that each room is completely cleaned out before you clean it in any shape or form. If you have a surplus of items, then it is good idea to try and donate as much as you can as this will really help to clear out space.

Once a room is empty and the door can be shut (by you at least) until you move, then this is a room that you should clean out. Any areas that are going to still see traffic should wait until the last minute as they are only going to get dirty again.

You need to give your bath and shower a good scrub, dust blinds and clean windows and give every cupboards and drawers a real good clean too.

You need to make sure that your appliances are clean too, a great way to do this is to run a self-cleaning cycle.

Whilst it isn’t difficult to think about cleaning your home, it can be tricky to make sure that it is done properly. You wouldn’t want to move into a dirty home, and neither will the next owners of yours!
